Job Title: Dragway Manager
Department: Dragway
Bristol Dragway Responsibilities:
- Lead all Track Prep & Maintenance across Bristol Dragway events
- Assist with securing staffing for Bristol Dragway events.
- Assist with NHRA operational needs pre- and post-event of the Thunder Valley Nationals
- Assist with Pre-Event & Post-Event setups (Vendor Midways, Finish Line Banners, Track/Staff Related Needs)
- Race Director (All Dragway Events)
- Leader of Dragway Racing Operations Staff.
- Ability to lead and manage others
- Enter data into back computer for Compulink
- Organize tech cards
- Run racing reports through 1320go for promoters and our own events.
- Lead person on Timing System & Compulink Setup/Issues for all events
- Manage Day-To-Day Dragway Supply Needs from An Operations Perspective (Glue, Tire, Fuel Shed, Track/Pit Maintenance)
- Lead on Event by Event season recaps and playbooks
- Assist other BMS departments that Speedway and Dragway needs
- Assist with Promoter Relationships
- Oversee the placement of staff during events
- Oversee the nightly closing of the facility after events
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with other BMS events throughout the season including NASCAR
- Assist with management of North Lot events (including Autocross & Drifting)
- Lead with special projects including NASCAR Transporter Parades, Fan Zone Stages, NHRA Autograph sessions, etc
- Assist Sales department with hospitality needs, including set up and tear down
- Travel to other SM tracks and events to assist with needs
- Lead Series Race Control during Speedway special events.
Requirements:
- Dragway Racing Event Management experience, including Track Prep, Timing System Management & Maintenance, and Race Direction
- Motivated leader with upbeat personality and great people skills.
- Must be able to handle long hours and high stress situations within events.
- Reside within a local proximity of Bristol Dragway or be willing to relocate to the area
- Have a driver’s license, your own transportation and pass a background check
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other necessary computer skills
- Strong work ethic with mechanical knowledge (fixing equipment issues, troubleshooting, etc.)
Notes:
- Year-Round Full Time Position
- March – October Race Season – 6+ days a week depending on Event Calendar.
- October – February Off Season – 5 days a week (normal office/business hours, closed on weekends)
