Draftsman / Designer Ii

Stone Center is expanding our Team to assist with the growing market in commercial and residential construction.  In this position, you will have the opportunity to work alongside customers and assist other team members on a daily basis.

• Minimum – 5 years’ experience using AutoCAD to develop Architectural Shop Drawings for submission to Architects, General Contractors, Mason Contractor .
• Field Measurements – Must have ability and willingness to travel to project sites to obtain information needed to complete shop drawings. The ability to read tape measure and the willingness to learn to use Digital Templator (LT/2D3D) will be required. Servicing the Ohio area.
• Masonry product knowledge is desired but not required.
• Use experience in AutoCAD to generate shop tickets from the Architectural Shop drawings.   
• You enjoy working with Customers to build lasting relationships.
• You recognize problems and can find innovative solutions.
• You are extremely organized and can handle multiple projects / requests at the same time.

About Stone Center

• Established in 1952, Stone Center is a provider and fabricator of Natural Stone Products.
• We have two fabrication shops in Ohio, one in Cincinnati and one in Columbus.
• We primarily fabricate Indiana Limestone and the majority of our projects are in Ohio, but have branched out to the Midwest in recent years.
• There are 25 full time employees between the two locations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

• Preparing Approval drawings using AutoCAD.
• Preparing Part Drawings for Shop production using AutoCAD.
• Preparing plastic templates using sign cutters or manually to be used in shop production.
• The support of the entire team. Being behind the scenes supporting the team in every aspect of their jobs.
• Data entry and processing orders in the system, you would be the subject matter expert in the office for all processes and procedures.
• This business is fast paced as we are supporting construction projects. There will be busy times throughout the year and we are always expecting the unexpected.
• Collaborate with other key players within the Stone Center team.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of Architectural drafting using AutoCAD required.
• Must be able to work in the office, remote and travel to job sites as needed for field measurements.
• Excellent communication skills with customers and your team.

• Displays strong customer service ethic, with high emphasis on empathy and exceeding customers expectations.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
