Power your Future as a Drafting Technician! Are you ready to power your career as a CAD Technician specializing in electrical design? In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in our engineering projects by creating technical drawings and plans using cutting-edge computer-aided design (CAD) software. You'll transform engineering concepts into detailed drawings and collaborate with the project team to ensure precision and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities- Provide CAD support by implementing and enforcing client standards, offering technical assistance for CAD software, and ensuring compliance with the best practices.
- Create clean, comprehensive, and accurate documents and working drawings from engineer's specifications or sketches, adhering to established drawing production and client standards.
- Develop single-line, three-line diagrams, AC and DC schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, sections, and details using CAD software.
- Maintain CAD document archives, oversee the integrity of drawings and systems, and serve as the client's document control system expert.
- Act as a liaison between operations, project engineering teams, and vendors. Assist in coordination and review of shop drawings during project administration.
- Organize CAD drawings and files, ensuring accessibility and efficient retrieval.
- Responsible for accurate document submittals and transmittals per client requirements.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in CAD software, electric utility design, or similar.
- AA/AS degree in Computer Aided Software Design, Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Skilled in AutoCAD (2D, 3D, AutoCAD Electrical, and/or MicroStation) and intermediate drafting and design.
- Ability to apply basic algebraic and geometric concepts.
- Excellent team collaboration skills and the capability to work independently.
- Effective multitasking, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and delivering aesthetically pleasing and functional drawings.
- Strong presentation abilities.
