Job Purpose

This is a remote/ rotational position, working two weeks on and two weeks off, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

The Down Hole Diagnostics (DHD) Technician performs wellhead and Down Hole testing. The DHD position works with all facets of the Greater Prudhoe Bay operating area to provide well evaluations through testing procedures.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist other Technicians with DHD tasks including tubing integrity fluid level testing, mechanical integrity testing, fluid level surveys, arctic pack de-pressure, well bleeding of gas and fluid, and outer annulus re-pressurization testing.
  • Research the Well history of above jobs and learn to read well bore schematics.
  • Perform well monitoring.
  • Calculate formulas to determine fluid level.
  • Perform bleeding operations.
  • Perform Tubing Integrity Fluid Level Surveys (TIFL’s).
  • Perform functions including: Mechanical Integrity Tests (MIT’s), Combination Integrity Tests (CIT’s), No-Flow Tests (NFT), Liquid Leak Rate Test (LLRT).
  • Calculate fluid gradient and tubular/annular volumes.
  • Safely climb ladders of various heights.

  • Ability to work as a part of a team.
  • Capable of learning various DHD procedures.
  • Ability to drive in adverse weather or road conditions.
  • Ability to operate a Box Van.
  • Ability to tow trailers used in DHD activities.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work at heights.

  • Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, reach through low and high ranges, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.
  • Must stand throughout evaluation.
  • Aerobic capacity evaluation via 3 Minute step test.
  • Sit and reach and range of motion evaluations.
  • Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.
  • Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.
  • Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.
  • Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.
  • Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.
  • Kneel 60 seconds, stand, kneel 60 seconds, stand.
  • Squat 60 seconds.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be able to acquire a Class A CDL with tanker and hazardous endorsement within 6 months of employment and the ability to be insured by Worley's auto insurer.
  • Six months petrochemical, oilfield or arctic experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current class A CDL with tanker, hazmat endorsement and current DOT medical card.
  • One (1) year experience working in the field of DHD.
  • One (1) year experience with IBM, PC, Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and database systems (e.g., Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • One (1) year; AWGRS, FIP and ANN COMM.
