Summary / Objective
The General Foreman position is responsible for planning and overseeing several coating/painting crews in order to achieve or exceed estimated labor productivity for the project. The General Foreman is responsible for carrying out the direction of the Project Manager regarding coating/painting activities and related duties.
Essential Functions
- Be able to perform all the principal duties and accountabilities of craft workers under his/her supervision.
- Lead and support all Marquis and customers safety related processes and programs
- Responsible for implementing all of Marquis and customer job safety requirements
- Responsible for conducting proper and thorough accident investigations and prepare all required accident reports
- Maintain a constant drive to achieve production outputs in order to meet targets.
- General management of all resources.
- Communicate effectively with Foreman daily
- Ensure crews are properly aligned to maintain optimal unit man hour rates.
- Responsible to assure materials and equipment are available and in place.
- Be able to set and execute crew goals based on project unit rates
- Listen to employees, complaints, problems, safety concerns and recommendations - evaluate each and then devise and implement a plan of action based upon consultation with management and HR, if required.
- Responsible for hiring of coating/painting crews for optimal performance
- Responsible to prepare "look ahead" schedules consistent with the project schedule to the Project Manager
- Review submitted timesheets for correct hours and ensure hours are being recorded to the proper job number.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the project and schedule work crews as they related to that portion of the work assigned.
- Inspect crews work for compliance with industry safety and quality standards. Ensure that correct procedures are followed and point out any deficiencies and take corrective action if needed
- Any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
- High School Degree or equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience in a Foreman capacity
- Five (5) to Ten (10) years of previous coating/painting experience in the chemical industry
- Ability to pass Hair Follicle Testing
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specification, tables , color charts.
- Acceptable Background
- TWIC Card
- Ability to work overtime
- Successful complete Safety Training
- NCCER certification preferred
