Part-Time Union Doorman Position

50% Doorman, 50% Receiving Room

Seeking to hire for the relief shift.

Receiving Room Job Description:

The Receiving Room is responsible for the intake, logging, and distribution of packages to the residents of the building. Packages are logged via PC or mobile app, marked, and stored appropriately until the recipient comes to retrieve it. Once the recipient arrives at the Receiving Room, the package will be transferred to them and then marked as delivered.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Be able to use a computer and/or mobile app
• Courteously and promptly retrieve packages for residents
• Provide special notice to residents for oversize package deliveries

Doorman Job Description:

The Doorman is the face of property and sets the tone for the resident and guest experience. This is a people oriented position with a high degree of public interaction. They will report directly to the property manager and property supervisor. The Doorman’s duties may include:

• Assist residents in entering/leaving building
• Supervise/control deliveries and moving
• Announce guests
• Secure cabs
• Answer resident/guest questions
• Monitor cameras
• Secure/lock entrance doors
• Act as security guard
• Answer telephone after office hours and respond to resident requests or emergencies per building policies.

This position offers various 8-hour shifts, both daytime and nighttime, 7-days a week. Full time employees must become members of SEIU Local #1. Continuing education is required and provided by SEIU Local #1.

Experience Requirements: 6 months previous high rise doorman experience, security guard or customer service experience.

• Obtain the Fire Safety Director certification from the City of Chicago

Pay: $19.35 per hour
