Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:The Arts and Sciences Foundation is the fundraising arm of the UNC Chapel Hill College of Arts and Sciences. The Foundation enhances the College by meeting the needs of the various academic departments; promoting teaching, research and service; and supporting the continuing development of knowledge and learning.
Position Summary:* Help process stewardship reports at the end of each week
* Perform administrative duties as needed
* Draft and edit stewardship reports- includes tracking down missing information from departments
* Interview donors and write articles on the positive impact of their support (600- 650 words)
* Edit other fundraising communications as needed
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:Candidates are expected to possess: 1) well-developed interpersonal and communication skills; 2) the ability to work on multiple projects at once. The position also requires a high level of production and attention to detail. 3) strong writing and editing skills and familiarity with Associated Press (AP) style; and 4) familiarity with editing PDFs.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience in development communications in higher education.
