Summary
The Donor Communications Coordinator helps Tahoe Forest Health System and Incline Village Community Hospital reach a higher standard of healthcare for the North Lake Tahoe/Truckee area. This position is responsible for developing and implementing a communications plans that support the strategic goals of both Foundations. Coordinates all Foundation communications for both internal and external audiences (with goal of stewarding and cultivating gifts from individuals, employees, corporate, and foundation prospects and donors), and supports the execution of all fundraising events for Tahoe Forest Health System Foundation and Incline Village Community Hospital Foundation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Stewardship and Cultivation:
- Uses sound fundraising principles to maintain timely and consistent contact with current and prospective donors to establish and sustain positive relationships resulting in major gifts and planned gifts.
- Develops strategies to engage visitors, part time residents, and new full time residents in the mission of the Foundations with goal of giving major gifts and meeting fundraising revenue goals
- Designs and executes all plans for the internal giving program: Team Member Giving. This includes the annual Team Member Giving launch, gratitude grams, and all communications in Pacesetter.
- Manages all internal restricted funds, and works with department heads to ensure funds are stewarded and spent appropriately.
- Keeps accurate and timely records of all donors and prospect interaction in Raiser’s Edge.
Communications:
- Coordinates communications for employees, donors, prospects, event attendees, and sponsors.
- Prepares routine and non-routine correspondence, including electronic newsletters, social media content, constant contact communications, invitations, and mailings to donors and prospects.
- Coordinates distribution of pre- and post-event communication to individuals and corporations. This includes direct mail solicitations, requests/proposals for sponsorship as well as follow up with sponsors and attendees.
- Supports all marketing and communication efforts for fundraising campaigns and events, including but not limited to: end of year appeals, annual campaigns, grateful patient campaigns, and #GivingTuesday.
- Edits and proofreads all materials for grammar, format, style, accuracy, compliance, and consistency.
Events:
- Supports the design, planning, and execution of fundraising events for both IVCHF and TFHSF, especially related to sponsorships and individual ticket sales with a focus on meeting event revenue goals.
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, plans, organizes, and implements donor engagement and special events.
- Recruits volunteers from within Health System to support Foundation event needs.
Administrative Support:
- Provides general office and administrative support for the Executive Director of IVCH Foundation.
- Maintains/updates records in database (Raiser's Edge, Constant Contact and Microsoft Excel lists) and assists with duties associated with Foundation gift processing and donor follow-up.

Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university; and three years + of relevant fundraising and communication experience in annual, major, and/or planned giving programs, preferably in hospital and/or healthcare or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 or more years relevant experience
Required Licenses/Certifications
Valid Driver's License in good standing - Upon Hire

- Basic knowledge of marketing techniques, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external resources.
- Works well independently on several projects concurrently.
