Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Donation Assistant Manager is responsible for all aspects of Goodwill Community Donations acquisition from prospecting, implementation, and acknowledgement. Additionally, this position will oversee the Attended Donation Sites and assist in acquiring new donation sites.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create a culture that drives engagement, fosters the growth and advancement of GCT's workforce.
  • Demonstrates company values, foster continuous learning and team development, advances team through change and creating a positive work environment.
  • Builds a high-performance team through recruiting, continuous training, and development. Coaches, Mentors and Develops direct reports.
  • Implement and manage all donation acquisition programs and services including residential and corporate pick-ups, estate services, donation drives, donation bins and long-term given relationships.
  • Establish and cultivate partnerships in the community for goods donation drives, with a focus on corporations, schools, colleges & universities, youth groups, faith communities, neighborhood associations and sprots teams.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to accomplish all donation acquisition marketing/advertising needs.
  • Ensure all ADC sites are visited personally at least weekly and that all staff are appropriately engaged and informed on department and company mission, strategy, and activities. Coordinate with Community Engagement department to ensure all ADC's are properly branded with corporate colors, logos and posters and have all necessary collateral for marketing campaigns.
  • Work with District Director, on identification, location and set up of new ADC sites.

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Travel is required at least 80% of the time with 20% office time.
  • Some evening and weekend availability required.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

     

    This position has supervisory responsibilities over ADCs and Donation Acquisition.

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

     

  • High school diploma and two years' experience managing a program with proven growth.
  • Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Experience negotiating sales and commitments.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; comfort with presenting and public speaking.
  • Experience using CRMs and online scheduling platforms.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrates organizational and divisional values.
  • Demonstrates ethics and complies with Corporate Compliance Program.
  •  

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must demonstrate a maturity of practice using 5 pillars and principles of servant leadership.
  • Must possess understanding of marginalization and how it impacts those Goodwill serves and employs.
  • Exhibit respect for diversity of thought and have experience to advance it in teams/organization.
  • Two years' experience managing a program with proven growth.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; comfort with presenting and public speaking.
