Job description

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field is preferred

· A valid driver’s license, automobile liability insurance, and an automobile that may be used in the performance of job duties

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work a flexible schedule

· Ability to exercise sound judgement when evaluating situations and to make decisions independently in crisis situations

· Computer literacy including MS Office products: Word, Excel, Gmail

· Exceptional time-management, planning, and administrative skills

· Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude

· Demonstrated commitment to achieving the organization's goals and objectives

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provides trauma informed care to survivors of domestic and sexual violence

* Maintains confidentiality regarding residents, location of shelter and other agency information

* Answers and documents crisis line calls in agency database, including safety plan, lethality assessment, screening for shelter admission, and providing information and referrals as appropriate; assisting residents with the victim compensation application when applicable

* Remains available to provide information to residents during assigned shift; assists residents in maintaining shelter procedures, rules, and policies

* Maintains accurate record keeping, documentation, and data collection of clients and services provided in the appropriate format (manual and electronic)

* Attends all required staff meetings and trainings

* Provides adequate security for residents and facility during shift; monitors exits/entrances to ensure that residents enter and exit shelter safely

* Review weekly goal plans with each new resident

* Performs any shelter related support such as housekeeping to include but not limited to sweeping and mopping floors, room and kitchen cleaning, laundry and linens, closet cleaning and trash removal, organizational/clerical tasks, special projects, etc.; informs Shelter Director of any needed repairs to building or grounds

* Participation in outreach events including Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October)

* Conducts and documents hourly walk-through of the shelter to ensure security and required maintenance

This position requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends. The successful candidate must also pass a background check.

Pay: $15.00 per hour
