Job Summary:
- Serve as the conduit between businesses and technology
- Oversee all aspects of the system solution, covering all of GIS including Desktop GIS (AFES), Mobile GIS and Web GIS.
- Use analytical and problem-solving skills to craft adaptable, comprehensive business solutions appropriate for each client
- Responsible for GIS strategy and application roadmap

- Develop and execute a solution strategy and business plan that supports growth of GIS applications
- Act as visionary and strategist for GIS solution product area
- Provide expertise to identify and translate system requirements into software design documentation
- Help business development lifecycle by serving as a GIS product subject matter expert to help identify and qualify business development opportunities
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships within the product line
- Provide end-to-end solution and design details
- Lead development of formalized solution methodologies
- Build and maintain repository for deliverables, methodologies, and business development documents
- Interface and coordinate tasks with internal and external technical resources. • Collaborate with Project Managers and technical Directors to provision estimates, develop overall implementation solution plan, and serve as a lead to implement the installation, customization, and integration efforts
- Provide quality assurance for services within the solution area
- Mentor and guide more junior technical resources
- Coordinates input from, and participation with, various departments within the company as needed to meet project objectives.
- Follow up on implementation of recommendations and/or acceptance of conclusions to assess accuracy and/or completeness.
- Manage and coordinate all activities leading to the successful completion of tasks and projects including scoping of project, cost estimates, budgeting, design and start-up.
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems or another closely related field of study
- Prior training and certification in GIS solutions
- Direct experience in the deployment, configuration and management of ESRI GIS systems in an electric and/or gas utility environment
- Experience with ArcFM from Schneider Electric
- Familiarity with different Cloud computing delivery models, knowledge of Cloud-based solutions for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, and ability to deliver Cloud-based technologies and system.
- Possess strong understanding of the components of Cloud architecture, including front-end platforms, back-end platforms, Cloud delivery, and network, and the ability to understand the interactions between those components and subcomponents to design applications, systems, and infrastructure in the Cloud environment
- Firm understanding of the software development lifecycle, from conception to launch
- Certification from any of the three major Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) in Cloud Architecture / Engineering / DevOps,
- Firm understanding of the enterprise architecture methodology, such as TOGAF
- Familiar with Agile methodology concepts, including Agile Scrum and/or Kanban (e.g., Lean, SAFe, LeSS) for project management to be able to design, implement and manage projects
- Develop solutions architect best practices
- Knowledge of databases and multiple operating systems
- Experience in managing databases and knowledge of systems security
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information to various audiences
- Highly organized and an exceptional team leader
- 2-3 years of previous related engineering experience required.
