Dog Walker/Pet Sitter

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a reliable and passionate Dog Walker to join our team. As a Dog Walker, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of dogs and provide them with the exercise and care they need. This is a great opportunity for individuals who love animals and enjoy spending time outdoors. Bonus opportunities to stay overnight with our regular clients are only available to employees of Sit & Staycations. These opportunities pay an average of $135 extra per day. The ability to do this is not a requirement of the job but the sitter's availability is definitely a plus!

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Walk dogs of various breeds and sizes, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Provide exercise and mental stimulation through engaging activities during walks
- Follow specific instructions provided by pet owners regarding feeding, medication, or special needs
- Maintain a consistent walking schedule and ensure punctuality for each appointment
- Monitor dogs for signs of distress or illness and report any concerns to the pet owner or supervisor
- Clean up after dogs during walks and properly dispose of waste
- Provide basic grooming such as brushing or wiping paws as needed
- Maintain clear and open communication with pet owners regarding their dog's behavior, health, or any incidents that may occur during walks

SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of dog handling techniques and understanding of canine behavior
assistance is a plus
- Ability to safely restrain animals when necessary
- Knowledge of basic first aid for pets is preferred
- Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners and provide updates on their dog's well-being
- Ability to handle multiple dogs at once while maintaining control and ensuring their safety
- Familiarity with positive reinforcement training methods is beneficial
- Passion for animals and a genuine love for dogs

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
