Dog Walker/Pet Sitter- Part-time Supplemental Income

Pets Are Family Pet Sitting Services LLC is a growing and well-loved boutique pet sitting and dog walking company, and we are seeking exceptional pet sitters to add to our staff. Pet Sitters may be tasked with daily dog walking clients and/or provide care for pets while clients are on travel, typically between 3- 14 days with multiple visits per day.

Pet Sitters needed in: Kingstowne/Franconia, Rose Hill, and Old Towne Alexandria.

Days Needed: Daytime visits/dog walks on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays

Information regarding visits:

Visits are 1-2 visits per day for 3-14 days. (You’ll provide feeding, walking, plant watering, and mail pickup while clients are traveling.)

Visits for dogs are typically 30 - 60 minutes between 7-9 am and 6-8 pm. (Perfect for someone who wants to supplement his/her income before and after a full-time job.)

Visit times for cats are more flexible and are usually once daily for a 30-minute visit.

Requirements for the dog and cat pet sitter position:

- You have a reliable car.

- You have a reliable smartphone that can support our company's software and can take photos.

- You can commit to working with us until at least August 2024. Clients who travel regularly prefer to have a relationship the same sitter or combination of two sitters.

- You love both dogs and cats. You are comfortable feeding, walking, and playing with pets according to their individual needs. You are able to monitor the behavior and health of the pets and report any concerns to the supervisor.

- You are available for both morning and evening visits.

- You have strong communication skills (both orally and in writing) and ability to provide exceptional customer service.

- You can work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s (Don’t worry; you’ll be able to have a holiday too, and you’ll be paid more per visit during this time.)

- You can pass a criminal /vehicle background check.

Hours/Pay rate: Fully trained and certified Pet Sitters are paid per visit and overall hourly pay averages $20-$24, including mileage reimbursement (one way) + tips + holiday bonus pay per visit as well as ongoing professional development and training.
