Dog Walker/Pet Sitter

Welcome to Austin Dog Walking! This is part time dog walking and pet sitting job. I am looking for a kind individual who has many years of experience working with animals. I need someone who is punctual- the first no call/no show that happens will result in being fired. These animals are counting on us, so if you struggle with being on time, please do not apply. This is an incredible opportunity to work with animals in a carefree environment. Specifically I am looking for someone to do a 30 minute walk at 10am every Thursday and for someone who can do overnight house sitting.

You MUST live in South Austin. Our clients are central austin, riverside, and south austin. I need someone who lives close to these areas so that it is not a huge commute.

Responsibilities:
- Walk dogs on a regular basis, ensuring their safety and well-being during the walks
- Provide basic care for dogs, including feeding, watering, and administering medication if necessary
- Clean up after dogs during walks and dispose of waste properly
- Monitor dogs' behavior and report any concerns or issues to the owner or supervisor
- Follow specific instructions provided by dog owners regarding their pets' care and routines
- Provide companionship and playtime for dogs to keep them mentally and physically stimulated

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in pet sitting, animal care, or as a veterinary assistant is preferred
- Knowledge of dog handling techniques and understanding of dog behavior
- Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments safely and confidently
- Basic grooming skills such as brushing, bathing, and nail trimming are a plus
- Strong communication skills to interact with dog owners and provide updates on their pets' well-being
- Physical fitness and ability to handle heavy lifting (e.g., carrying large bags of dog food or supplies)
- Familiarity with equine care is a bonus
- Ability to work independently and responsibly, following instructions and guidelines provided
