Dog Rescue & Sanctuary Receptionist

If you’re a dog lover with stellar customer service skills and a “take charge” attitude who enjoys interacting with people and managing basic administrative duties, this could be your dream job. Grammy Rose Dog Rescue & Sanctuary located in Acton Maine is looking for a dependable, outgoing, part-time receptionist to work in the campus welcome center. This is a critical position for our campus as the receptionist is often the “first and lasting impression” and ambassador for callers, potential adopters and visitors to our 70-acre campus. Grammy Rose Dog Rescue & Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues adoptable dogs from euthanasia and matches them with forever families.

Required Skills and Certifications

• At least one year of public-facing customer service; previous receptionist experience a plus
• Exceptional customer service and written/oral communication skills
• Ability to take charge, manage people and situations, multi-task and ensure things run smoothly in a positive manner in a busy environment
• Basic knowledge of computers and basic software
• Ability to work independently and proactively
• Strong organizational skills

Essential Job Functions

• Answer incoming telephone calls – handle basic inquiries and triage calls from potential dog adopters; speak confidently about dogs available for adoption and adoption procedures
• Schedule adoption appointments and volunteer visits
• Greet and assist potential adopters, volunteers and other campus visitors
• Assist guests with gift shop purchases and maintain product stock
• Accept and log in-kind and financial donations and send thank you correspondence
• Assist with dog adoptions
• Assist with maintaining dog management and volunteer management data
• Ensure welcome center is always clean, tidy and “public ready”
• Other duties as requested

Job Type: Part-Time

Schedule: Our welcome center is open daily from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The position's hours would be 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. We're looking for a part-time person to work 3-4 days per week.
