Responsibilities:
- Train dogs using positive reinforcement techniques to improve their behavior and obedience.
- Develop and implement training programs tailored to each dog's specific needs and goals.
- Teach basic commands such as sit, stay, and come, as well as more advanced skills like agility or therapy dog training.
- Assess and address any behavioral issues or concerns that arise during training sessions.
- Provide guidance and support to dog owners on how to continue reinforcing training at home.
- Maintain accurate records of each dog's progress and behavior.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with animals, preferably in a veterinary clinic, kennel, or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of dog behavior, breed characteristics, and training methods.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with dog owners and provide clear instructions.
- Patience and compassion when working with dogs of different temperaments and learning abilities.
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and breeds safely and confidently.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed to accommodate clients' schedules.
- Certification in dog training or related field is a plus.
