Our Dog Groomer is an integral position at Lush Dog Resort. Our Grooming salon was voted #1 in Grooming for Palm Beach County, and we are very proud of that!
Who We Are Looking For:
- We are searching for a confident Dog Groomer with an enthusiastic and positive attitude towards dogs (and people).
- At Lush, we define a successful Dog Groomer as someone who is knowledgeable, perceptive, patient, adaptable, and a compassionate dog lover.
- We are looking for a motivated team player who can groom to Lush Dog Resort standards.
- We are looking for someone who is kind to animals, co-workers, and dog parents.
This position requires:
- At least 6 months to 1 year of grooming experience or graduation from a grooming school.
- Knowledge of all dog breeds, their cuts, their grooming and care standards, and tools of the trade.
- Strength to lift dogs of all sizes; stamina to stand for long periods of time.
- Reliable transportation.
- Willingness to work in a smoke-free environment.
Tasks
- Provide professional pet grooming services to clients' pets, including bathing, brushing, haircuts, and nail trims.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of pets during the grooming process.
- Assess and address any health or behavioral issues that may arise during grooming.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming area and equipment.
- Adhere to Lush Dog Resort sanitary and cleaning practices.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their specific grooming requests and preferences.
- Keep accurate records of each pet's grooming history and any special instructions or requests.
- Groom to Lush Dog Resort standards while providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to our house bathers.
- Create an environment conducive to learning, open communication, and teamwork.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by Management/Supervisors.
Skills and Abilities:

- Ability to self-critique; hold oneself and others to high standards of grooming.
- Proficient in various grooming techniques for different breeds.
Pay: this position is commission based and NOT hourly. Commission starting % will be discussion with each applicant/application.

Pay: $15.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
