Job description

We are a privately owned and operated Dog Daycare and boarding facility where our focus is the dogs, teamwork, and our clients. We are seeking outgoing and active members to join our team! Staff have a variety of responsibilities from monitoring dogs at play, customer service, cleaning, and all aspects of overnight animal care. We offer Doggy Daycare, overnight boarding for dogs and small animals, as well as basic grooming. Ideal candidates will be patient, energetic, and be ready to work in a fast-paced environment. You must have an interest in dog behavior and training, and be able to work outdoors in most weather. This job requires hard work and attention to detail; it entails more than just cuddling puppies!

Daycare is held outdoors as much as possible in one of our artificial turf yards. Outdoor play space has shade cloths, playsets, and kiddie pools to help our furry friends enjoy their fun filled days with lots of options for activity. We generally have 4-5 divisions of groups in which dogs are placed based on their size, temperament, and playstyle. Group sizes average 15 dogs. Staff are expected to engage with dogs to practice basic manners as well as managing for appropriate play interactions. This helps build relationships and trust between staff and the dogs in order to create a positive experience.

We have a small team, so dynamics are of the utmost importance in order to keep our facility running smoothly. Our staff work together as well as independently to provide an efficient, safe, and clean environment. Team members work to accomplish a multitude of husbandry and cleaning tasks throughout the day in addition to working directly with the dogs. Staff meet after each morning play session to discuss behavior of individual dogs and the group to determine ways to manage the dogs better or possible changes to dynamics that might create a more enjoyable experience for the dogs. This time is spent sharing, learning, and listening in order to improve themselves as well as their teammates. As part of our onboarding new team members are trained using a combination of videos, written tests, and hands on work with an experienced staff member to learn group management and dog behavior.

We are a moderately sized facility that is seasonally very busy but also benefits from a solid regular client base the rest of the year round. Our clients are the best and are always recommending us to friends, family, and guests. Attention to detail and excellent customer service to ensure the best experience for our guests is paramount. We depend on our staff to maintain the trust and integrity we have worked so hard to foster with both our human and fur clients by providing a high end and exceptional experience.

The animal industry operates 365 days a year. We are busy every day of the week including weekends and especially at school vacation and holiday times and expect staff to be flexible. We are looking for dedicated team members who:

*Are comfortable working with all sizes of dogs and are willing to work with dogs who occasionally require specific handling.

*Are in good physical condition and able to stand, squat, stoop, bend, lift at least 50 lbs, walk, stand for entire shift, and handle strong dogs.

*Willingness to maintain high standards of cleanliness including mopping, scrubbing, cleaning poop, vomit, and any other necessity.

*Must be willing to work outside in all weather as needed.

Our facility and it’s operation depends entirely on having dependable, punctual, detail oriented, self motivated, and self directed team members. Animal experience is a plus but not required, we look for passion and are willing to train the right person! Must be 16+ years old. Full time available, hours fall between 9 am and 6:30 pm.
