Dog Daycare Handler

We are passionate about providing dogs with a safe and fun environment in which they are free to socialize with friends and get some exercise while they're at it. We are looking for a motivated team player to join our staff and help us in this mission!

We have essentially two positions open and are happy to fill either one. The first would be a dog handler position - working in our playrooms with our dogs and ensuring safe and pleasant care throughout the day. The second would be an administrative position - working at our front desk and helping customers with scheduling and payments, as well as handing off their dogs and making sure they exit the building safely. Both positions require a comfort with dogs of all breeds and sizes as well as thorough completion of shared nightly cleaning tasks (trash removal, vacuuming, moping, etc.)

For Dog Handler: The ideal candidate would have daycare or walking experience, but a desire to learn and to help the dogs succeed is all that is needed. We provide training on dog behavior, communication, learning theory, and behavior adjustment. These skills take a long time to learn and refine, and so we provide continued on-the-job coaching to help staff feel supported and empowered. While employees are allowed to sit and rest from time to time, each shift will require a lot of walking around and interacting with the dogs, so an energetic and motivated applicant is a must.

For Administrator: The ideal candidate would have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and feel comfortable interacting with clients and other team members. We look to promote a relaxed culture, but also one based on mutual respect and accountability.

Starting pay is between $15 and $20 per hour. This depends heavily on experience and skill set.
