Job description

SUMMARY

Responsible for maintaining a positive client/pet experience that follows BLDHs Mission and Core Values. Ensure that each pet is treated with respect, is comfortable and safe, and is cared for in adherence to all Company Policy/Standards. Responsible for ensuring excellent customer service and impeccable care for BLDH’s guests. Partner with BLDHs Lodging & Daycare Manager, staff and General Manager to oversee daily operations, staff development, company promotions and activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee operations of assigned shift.
  • Ensure that all activities are safe and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Partner with the Lodging & Daycare Manager to develop the skills of the Lodging & Daycare staff to ensure client/pet experience and health by creating an engaging environment, accurate knowledge and positive work environment.
  • Supervise all client interactions, and daily duties of team members.
  • Positively greet all clients, explain BLDHs programs, and suggest products and services which are best for each individual client.
  • Properly record any incidents and discuss with the Lodging & Daycare Manager.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is readily available and up to date for staff.
  • Deliver outstanding client service through knowledge of products, services and benefits available through BLDH.
  • Lead by example and exceed all Key Performance Indicators.
  • Adapt to the changing business needs through consistent and concise communication with the Lodging & Daycare Manager.
  • Follow through with all commitments made to clients and/or other BLDH team members in a timely manner.
  • Participate daily in Daily Leadership communication.
  • Maintain all supplies, equipment, enclosures and tools needed. Report any repairs needed.
  • Make general decisions concerning food changes. Partner with and communicate all changes with the Lodging & Daycare Manager and pet parent.
  • If there is an injury to a guest, assess the situation and gather as much information as possible before calling the Lodging & Daycare Manager or General Manager. (Who is their vet, how long have they been boarding, when are they departing, is he or she on medications, any temperature?)
  • Select, describe and capture photo of monthly lodging buddy.
  • Prepare chore and rotation charts no later than 3 days before each work week.
  • Execute activities assigned by Lodging & Daycare Manager for daily, weekly and monthly chores.
  • Partner with the Playtime staff during morning Buddy times, ensuring proper supervision and care of pets according to BLDH’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation of meals, potty breaks and al interactions are completed.
  • Complete pet’s intro and exit evaluations.
  • Ensure each pet received outstanding service by providing safe, enjoyable experience during each and every interaction.
  • Thoroughly read Kennel Cards before each interaction, even with familiar pets.
  • Clean lodging and daycare areas in accordance to BLDH’s policies and procedures.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with clients, employees, corporate partners and vendors.
  • Demonstrate high level of quality of work, attendance and appearance.
  • Adhere to local, state and federal employment laws.
  • Work flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary.
  • Any additional duties assigned by the Lodging & Daycare Manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Unify and motivate the lodging and daycare team.
  • Listen as a leader, help identify solutions.
  • Handling Conflict: If you need to correct an inappropriate behavior or a procedure that is executed incorrectly, you must act on the situation immediately. The situation should be addressed as follows.
  • Always speak one-on-one where others cannot hear the conversation.
  • Discuss that situation with them calmly and do NOT raise your voice.
  • Listen to what they have to say.
  • Do not stress “consequences”. That is the Lodging & Daycare Manager and General Managers responsibility.
  • Let the team member know what you expect, positively express your belief in them. Always keep in mind that corrections are made to help a team member get back on track and succeed.
  • If this is an extreme situation, you will need to contact the Lodging & Daycare Manager or General Manager for help.
  • Be fair and unbiased, listen to problems without judgment. Ask the team member if they have a solution to the problem. Report any findings and or concerns to the Lodging & Daycare Manager.
  • Absolutely NO yelling at any staff member. You are a leader!
  • Any corrections above verbal coaching must be completed in partnership with the Lodging & Daycare Manager or General Manager. No supervisor or manager has the right to terminate, shorten a shift or send a team member home. The only exception being possible physical danger.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Standing or walking 90% of scheduled shifts.
  • Required to lift, move and carry up to 40lbs.
  • Ability to control and walk a dog with a leash.
  • Ability to use a ladder and/or step stool.
  • Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation and reports.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
