Looking for someone with experience in dog bathing.
Job Purpose:
To provide exceptional customer service to clients through dog bathing services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform dog bathing/grooming services including but not limited to brushing, bathing, conditioning, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, sanitary trims, nail trims, de-matting services, drying, etc.
- Follow pet parent’s instructions or breed standards when servicing animals.
- Communicating and educating the client for optimal customer service and frequency
- Entering all grooming blade and cut notes and ensure profile photo is uploaded into Gingr pet profile for team communication and consistency.
- Complete all required grooming logs, paperwork, and commission reports.
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary work environment to health and safety code.
- Clean up bathing area, disinfect table and tools between clients
- Greet clients at check in and pick up
- Maintain exceptional relationship with human and dog clients, retaining clients over time
- Perform brief consultation at check in, making expert recommendations on services for the day
- Discuss estimated cost of service at check in
- Confirm customer appointments and vaccinations are up to date 24 hours in advance of appointment times.
- Notify customer when pooch is ready for pick up with bathing details.
- Take photos of dogs being for the bath for parents and social media purposes.
- Prebook future appointments at time of check out
- Follow up with new customers two (2) days after first appointment, assuring satisfaction
- Follow up with customers that have not been in for 6-8 weeks
- Address any client complaints immediately, assuring client satisfaction
- Perform bathing services in a safe manner to avoid injuries - DDL understands that accidents happen, however incidents must be kept to a minimum. Refer to the Employee Handbook for policy related to bathing/grooming-related dog injuries
- Regularly attend educational training to strengthen expertise and develop new skills
- Participate in community marketing events quarterly with an opportunity to increase clientele base
- Attend periodic meetings and in-house trainings
- Display the highest standard of client service, including bows, bandanas, or tie for each dog.
- Make retail recommendations and discuss other services offered at Downtown Dog Lounge
- Run dogs at check in and check out as needed when not actively with a bathing client
- Assist with cleaning, inventory, and laundry in the Grooming Department.
- Notify management of all maintenance and/or equipment repairs needed.
Experience and Education:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- A minimum of two years grooming experience (Willing to train the right candidate, with a 2-year commitment)
- A minimum of two years customer service experience

- Good communication skills; written and verbal

- Proficiency in Gingr operations
- Full understanding of DDL products and services
- Ownership and maintenance of personal tools and equipment
- Open availability to working weekends and/or evenings and during peak holiday times
- Dependable attendance is required.
- Schedules are determined by individual store needs as determined by the Store Supervisor and are subject to change.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
- Ability to handle different sizes and temperaments of dogs.
- This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour
