Job Summary:
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Auditor. The Software Quality Assurance function assesses the software life cycle processes and their outputs to obtain assurance that the objectives are satisfied, that the deficiencies are detected, evaluated, tracked, and resolved and that the software product and associated lifecycle data conform to certification requirements. The Software Quality Assurance representative performs an integral and active role in every aspect of the software life cycle and is enabled to perform with authority, responsibility, and independence to ensure that the Software Quality Assurance process objectives are satisfied. The job responsibilities require an understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, Agile methodologies, RTCA-DO-178B/C, and Military Data Item Descriptions. Candidate will plan and accomplish a wide variety of quality activities with moderate guidance related to software development, verification, and the use of software in design, test, and analysis activities. These include embedded software assurance, modeling audits and reviews, product security and process assurance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review internal and supplier documentation to assure adequacy of definition, and conformance to contractual, regulatory, and P&W requirements.
  • Perform pre-audits of the Embedded software processes for compliance to contractual, regulatory, and approved plans and standards.
  • Generate associated Software Quality Assurance records in a timely manner.
  • Participate in associated program and customer reviews.
  • Participate in test witnessing activities, when and where applicable
  • Participate as an integral member of the program's Integrated Product Team.
  • Evaluate proposed correction and corrective action plans and its effectiveness at correcting and eliminating the root cause of identified discrepancies.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 2 years of experience in Engineering or an Advance degree with no experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong written and verbal communication and applications including MS Office
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in engineering, especially with Pratt & Whitney or other Raytheon Technologies companies.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer focus, listening and teamwork.
  • Familiarization with coding standard, verification and validation, version control, change control process, configuration management, access control, archive, backup and recovery.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.
This requisition is eligible for an employee referral award. ALL eligibility requirements must be met to receive the referral award.
The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
