Division Controller Iii

Overview
The Division Controller III is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the assigned division's accounting, to include direct supervision of corporate staff and coordination with division financial staff. The incumbent provides direction related to company financial information and accounting procedures, ensures company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles and regulatory requirements, ensures accurate recording and timely distribution of financial and management information such as financial statements, project reports, variance analysis, etc. This position also involves providing expertise with the Deltek Costpoint accounting system, including assisting with system conversions and the execution of the system's accounting functionality. Assists with the enforcement of Chenega's Government Contracting policy and procedures as required for Government contractors. This position requires candidate to fulfill responsibilities and duties with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of general ledger accounting, such as monthly journal entries, monthly reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers, monthly bank reconciliations, monthly accruals and reversals, fixed asset accounting, and monthly revenue recognition and analysis.
• Review transactions and assist accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and money management functions when necessary.
• Proactively recommend modifications and improvements to existing corporate programs and processes.
• Perform and monitor financial analysis both at the project level and financial statement level to provide accurate insights to management on operating results.
• Assist with all phases of the Company's mergers & acquisitions strategy including due diligence, purchase accounting, system conversions, and monitoring of KPIs post-closing.
• Work with Assistant Controller and/or Corporate Controller to proactively identify, research, and resolve complex financial/accounting and compliance issues.
• Coordinate information related to company audits and preparation of reports required by regulatory agencies. Work directly with external financial auditors to ensure the timely completion of the annual consolidated financial audit.
• Provide strategic oversight and subject matter expertise on all matters related to financial reporting and operations to support corporate strategy development and evaluation.
• Provide support in meeting Government contracting reporting requirements such as Annual Incurred Cost Submissions. Ensure FAR policies and procedures are being consistently followed by all subsidiaries through review of accounting information and results during the year.
• Assist in the development and execution of Costpoint accounting functionaility, including project setup and maintenance.
• Coordinate accounting efforts between various departments and subsidiaries
• The Division Controller will be responsible for supervising other accounting staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in accounting or finance from a four year college or university
• Minimum of eight or more years related accounting experience
• CPA preferred
• Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint system is desirable
• Experience in government contracting highly desirable
