Diversified Operations Technician

Role Purpose

To effectively and efficiently assist in the daily operations at the agronomy location. Assist with duties involving bulk plant and warehouse operations. Other duties primarily associated with warehousing, equipment maintenance, hauling grain, tending application equipment, general farm work, custom application, soil sampling, etc. Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor and implement the company's direction while promoting professionalism and teamwork and to support the Norder Spot-On service philosophy.

Custom Application

• Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers accurately
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment as directed by supervisor
• Operate all equipment safely and appropriately
• Complete spray records and required logs accurately and timely
• Follow company policies and procedures
• Learn how to read pesticide labels and use appropriate personal protective equipment
• Effectively complete all other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Delivery of Products

• Deliver products to and from other location and customers
• Meet DOT requirements, properly fill out time sheets and log books
• Notify supervisor of any repairs needed to delivery equipment

Facility Operations

• Operate forklifts, scales, pumps and all other equipment in a safe and responsible manner

Warehouse/Bulk Plant

• Load/unload deliveries, help organize loads and inventories
• Fill bulk containers and package chemicals also handle NH3, dry and liquid fertilizer
• Operate bulk seed treatment equipment

Shared Accountabilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment and facilities so that they are in excellent working condition for their respective seasons. Such equipment may include but is not limited to: nurse trailers, anhydrous trailers, dry fertilizer equipment, bulk chemical and fertilizer facilities, tending and application equipment, warehouse, office, ground, vehicles and all other equipment

Critical Knowledge

• Knowledge of equipment and tractor trailer operations
• Knowledge of chemical handling and loading
• Knowledge of fuel handling and loading
• Knowledge of Worker Protection Standards
• General maintenance knowledge

Critical Skills

• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements
• Ability to adapt to different work environments
• Ability to demonstrate a team player attitude
• Ability to work long hours during peak periods
• Demonstrate basic math skills
• Ability to lift 75 pounds
