QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, Merchandising, Interior Design or equivalency with a minimum of five years experience in visual merchandising in a high-end hard line retail environment. Furniture experience and prior supervisory experience required.
Other Requirements: Through knowledge of design, fashion trends and product. Ability to analyze inventory data and implement floor moves. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Position requires a valid driver's license, except in limited circumstances in which the associate can establish to the Company's satisfaction that they have available for use during all business hours an alternate means of transportation not requiring the operation of a motor vehicle which will enable them to perform the duties of their position. Some travel, including overnight, is required. May require holiday, weekend and evening hours.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
Provides guidance and direct supervision to Visual Merchandisers within District to implement and maintain appropriate floor displays, in accordance with the Visual Merchandising Guidelines and the current Ethan Allen branded projection.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the Visual Merchandisers to ensure visual merchandising objectives are met based on corporate guidelines and that each Visual Merchandiser is properly performing their job functions.
- Ensure Visual Merchandisers are managing obsolete and overstock inventory and maintaining inventory levels within established Ethan Allen benchmarks by providing assistance and training with utilizing the Discontinued Product Report, Available-to-Sell report, Rate-of-Sale report, and Data Warehouse Reporting.
- Train and assist design consultants in completing accent home calls and presentations.
- Participate with training of design consultants to build accent sales.
- Participate in all Visual Exchange Web Casts.
- Attend Conventions as required.
- Review Design Center Floor Plans.
- Complete Market Orders.
- Assist with cycle counts and tagging of merchandise.
- Oversee and maintain the interior and exterior environment of the Design Center per the Visual Merchandising Guidelines.
- Supervise, coach, counsel and train staff members. Evaluate performance and complete performance appraisals in accordance with company policy.
