THE ROLE
We are looking for a District Success Manager based in the Midwest who is excited to join a small team working on a big goal: helping school districts implement Khan Academy to support student learning. In this role, we're looking for someone who enjoys working with new technologies to empower educators and drive student learning. Applicants should be ready & excited to translate the core skill set of customer success management to an education context & should be equally comfortable having conversations with members of district executive leadership as well as leaders of curriculum & instruction, technology & classroom teachers. Technical problem-solving, relationship management & relational intelligence, empathy for school district leaders & teachers, and excellent communication form the desired skill set for this role.
What you'll do:
  • Own a portfolio of school districts and be responsible them achieving high-levels of effective use and satisfaction with Khan Academy's product and content.
  • Be responsible for successful district implementations from post-sales throughout the lifecycle of the relationship.
  • Lead districts to have clear implementation plans; identify nuanced customer needs & facilitate change management. You will monitor progress against goals, assist districts in identifying opportunity areas, and coach them to take ownership for the success of their Khan Academy implementation.
  • Coach District partners to analyze their data, and to have strong communication plans from central office, to school site leaders, to teachers on the expectations for Khan Academy product use.
  • Drives improvement to District Success playbooks over time by testing new ideas, measuring results, and collaborating closely with other District Success Managers.
  • Collaborate with our Professional Learning team to develop a custom PD plan for our most strategic partners. Facilitate professional development sessions for teachers and administrators on how to effectively use Khan Academy.
  • Manage school district account growth; identify & pursue expansion opportunities.
  • Consistently represent an in-depth perspective of customer & user needs throughout the company.

WHAT YOU BRING:
  • 3+ years of experience as a school site or district level administrator in a 6-12 setting
  • 5+ years of experience teaching math, science or ELA in a K-12 setting
  • 2+ years of customer success, account management, or education-focused customer support experience
  • Motivation for the Khan Academy mission "to provide a free world-class education for anyone, anywhere."
  • Strong coach and facilitator for all levels of K12 educators. You can effectively coach district administrators and site leaders, winning their hearts and minds through strong listening skills, adapting your recommendations to specific needs, data analysis and story telling, and strong change management skills.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills, including problem-solving using tools, technology & solutions that involve automation. Experience using a CRM (we use Salesforce) is preferred.
  • Outstanding communication skills: Ability to communicate concisely and persuasively in multiple formats, including email, written documents, digital presentations, and verbal conversations.
  • Proven cross-cultural competency skills demonstrating self-awareness, awareness of other, and the ability to adopt inclusive perspectives, attitudes, and behaviors to drive inclusion and belonging throughout the organization.
  • Strong project management & prioritization experience and the ability to reliably execute & support dozens of school district accounts simultaneously & efficiently
  • Strong technology skills including ed tech tools, video recording software, live video-conferencing tools, & Google Workplace tools

NOTE: The District Success Manager will reside in the Midwest and work remotely. They must be able and willing to travel up to 15% to meet with customers.

This belief is why we have built out a robust Total Rewards package that includes competitive base salaries, and extensive benefits and perks to support physical, mental, and financial well-being.
The target salary range for this position is $96,800 - $120,000 USD. The pay range for this position is a general guideline only. The salary offered will depend on internal pay equity and the candidate's relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and job market data. Exceptional performers in this role who make an outsized contribution can make well in excess of this range. Additional incentives are provided as part of the complete total rewards package in addition to comprehensive medical and other benefits.
