Overview:Alabama Crown is looking for a Distribution Manager for our Alabaster Al location. This position will plan, coordinate, control and manage warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:This is a full time position,under general direction, this position will plan, coordinate, control and manage warehouse operations .
Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
- Plan, direct, manage and coordinate all areas of activities and employees.
- Responsible for the order pulling, breakage/spoilage, safety, equipment operation, returns and truck loading.
- Responsible for evaluating employee performance and making adjustments when and where problems exist.
- Responsible for accurate management of time & attendance system.
- Responsible for proper inventory maintenance and replenishment.
- Responsible for ensuring forklift certification/testing is completed on all employees who will be operating equipment.
- Provides direct leadership to Assistant Managers, Supervisors and Warehouse employees including mentoring, performance appraisals and development.
- Provides analysis and development of the loading process including quality, safety and cost reduction.
- Develops and establishes plans, operating objectives, goals and performance standards for warehouse operations.
- Ensures that safe operating procedures and practices are followed and monitors compliance to all recommended OSHA regulations.
- Assist in developing effective training programs, production standards and tracking.
- Responsible for integration and management of strategic initiatives related to distribution.
- Responsible for keeping warehouse organized and clean.
- Responsible for closing of the facility.
- Responsible for showing professionalism in all of the following areas at all times:
- Attire
- conduct
- time management
- proper and thorough follow up
- employee management.
- Responsible for adhering to and ensuring employees adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- 5+ years upper management experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment preferred.
- WMS/RFID Technology experience required.
- Supply Chain Industry and 3PL knowledge preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to plan and control logistics.
- Must have previous material handling equipment experience (i.e. cherry picker, reach, sit down lift).
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. repetitively.
- Mature judgment regarding handling of sensitive and confidential information.
- Must be able to communicate with people/employees effectively.
- Excellent oral & written communication skills.
- Proficient knowledge of basic computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management & organizational skills.
- Must possess and be able to maintain valid driver’s license.
- Must have and be able to maintain 100/300/100 insurance liability limits.
- Must be able to prioritize & work in a rapidly changing, fast growth environment.
- Must be able to pass background checks (i.e. Police backgrounds, reference checks)
- Motor vehicle record will be pulled to establish employment eligibility: no DUI, reckless driving, or hit & run in the past five years & no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
