We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a  Distribution Manager (3rd Shift) in Waco, TX.

The  Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary

As a Distribution Manager (3rd Shift), you will provide guidance and supervision to ensure the accomplishment of distribution center goals, including those related to budget and cost structure.

Additional Info:

• This position is based in Waco, TX and does not offer relocation
• This position is 3rd Shift : Sunday-Thursday 10pm-6:30am
• This position is 100% on-site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules

What You Will Do:

• Making workflow decisions under the direction of management. Improving service levels and costs for distribution center operations.
• Supervising and motivating distribution center employees through effective coaching and training, clear communication of job expectations, and positive reinforcement of exemplary performance; maintaining a positive distribution center working environment.
• Implementing productivity, quality, and service standards. Resolving problems and identifying areas for improvements. Contributing performance data to strategic plans and reviews.
• Ensuring all equipment receives preventative maintenance and repairs, as necessary.
• Adhering to requirements and procedures for safety regulations.

What You Have (Basic Skills Required):

• Operational Functions: Knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
• Coaching Others: Knowledge of coaching and mentoring concepts and methods; ability to encourage, motivate, and guide individuals in learning and improving effectiveness.
• Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.
• Warehouse Management: Knowledge of the policies, processes and systems of warehouse management; ability to effectively manage one or more warehouses or distribution centers

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills)

• Automation: experience working with robotics, and automated vehicles
• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience with SAP (EWM) Extended Warehouse Management
