JOB SUMMARY

The Amazon Distribution Lead is responsible for ensuring the smooth and accurate processing and shipping of Amazon 1P orders while ensuring adherence to Amazon specifications and expectations. This role is also responsible for tracking the productivity and accuracy performance of distribution team members involved in processing Amazon orders, and reporting progress and performance issues to the department supervisor and/or the Manager, Warehouse & Distribution.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 1 year distribution/fulfillment experience, prior supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Prior experience operating Powered Industrial Trucks such as Order Picker, Reach Truck, Forklift, and Power Jack
  • Prior experience with utilizing Warehouse Management Systems (i.e., VAI, DCX, etc.), strong experience using Microsoft Excel, prior experience using handheld technology devices (i.e., RF Gun)

  • Able to quickly maneuver warehouse floor throughout the day
  • Ability to maintain consistent attendance, arriving on time and prepared for all shifts, meetings, and appointments.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES, EXPECTATIONS, AND BEHAVIORS include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Process the release of all systemically-available Amazon1P orders in all applicable Warehouse Management Systems
  • Ensure that all new order documents are prepared and printed as accurately and efficiently as possible while ensuring documents are sorted appropriately by relevant priority (i.e. ship-window dates)
  • Oversee order document handling, ensuring all order documents are kept intact, all orders are picked and ship-prepped in accordance with applicable prioritization, and all information recorded on the order documents is accurate and complete at all stages from creation to invoicing and storage
  • Promptly address and resolve any/all issues that prevent the efficient/accurate completion of the order picking & preparation process to ensure all orders are shipped accurately by deadline
  • Monitor the productivity of Amazon Team while promoting accuracy and the safe operation of equipment used
  • Maintain availability and sufficient levels of department supplies and resources to ensure consistent workflow
  • Meet and maintain productivity and accuracy standards - providing training, instruction, guidance, assistance, solutions, and development/improvement coaching as needed to foster associate & team success
  • Be able to safely operate all equipment used, and ensure all team members follow all safety procedures while working and when using equipment
  • Facilitate as-needed communication of information updates between management and staff seamlessly
  • Ensure all company and team policies, practices, and processes are followed accurately to ensure orders are picked and prepared for shipment correctly and efficiently
  • Frequently communicate, cooperate, and/or coordinate with any/all other departments, teams, and individuals outside of the Amazon1P team in a positive and professional manner
  • Document/record all required metrics (i.e. attendance, productivity, accuracy, etc.) accurately, consistently providing reports for department supervisor
  • Ensure all tools/equipment used by team members is/are signed out correctly, used safely and in accordance with all applicable company policies and procedures, and is signed/turned in appropriately by the end of each shift
  • Report any/all equipment problems or malfunctions to department supervisor and maintenance and help to resolve issue by determining root cause
  • In office attendance is an essential function of this position

WORKING CONDITIONS

The essential functions of this job require the employee to perform the following physical activities:

  • Constantly required to stand, kneel, push and pull objects; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. In addition, the employee is constantly required to lift objects overhead and below the waist. The employee will be on their feet and walking their entire shift except when required to operate forklift equipment which could require sitting or standing.
  • Specific vision and hearing abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to focus with eyes, ability to hear and comprehend verbal instructions.
  • Position requires the employee to be able to lift, and/or push objects ranging up to 60 pounds on a very frequent basis.
