DISTRIBUTION CENTER ASSOCIATE – 2nd Shift

REPORTS TO: DISTRIBUTION CENTER SHIFT MANAGER

STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

2nd Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday, $18.50/hr with possible overtime

The Distribution Center (DC) Associate is responsible for pulling product from weekly distribution requests using a forklift or order picker. This role will also assist with shipping and receiving, light computer work, the use of DC equipment and requires the ability to work well in a team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Unloading

  • Assists with receiving incoming freight.
  • Unloading trucks.
  • Confirms quantities of merchandise and other inventory to verify the accuracy of the order to be processed.
  • Ability to effectively operate RF units, scanners.
  • Sorts, Scans and Separates merchandise and inventory to be processed.
  • Utilizes hard copy reports to process damaged and/or salvageable merchandise as directed.
  • Monitors sort induction lines to ensure accurate scanning of distribution labels and effective processing of merchandise.
  • Handles and stacks merchandise in such a way to prevent damage to merchandise and/or prevent unsafe and unstable loads.
  • Exhibits reasonable care and operation of material handling equipment (Industrial Manual Pallet Jack).
  • Performs general housekeeping duties within the department and assigned designated areas to ensure a safe and appropriate working environment.
  • Monitors equipment and reports problems to supervisor
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping cross walks, pallet area, and workstations neat
  • Maintains the integrity of our Mission, Vision and Values statement while performing daily job duties.

Packing

  • Packs product for all weekly distributions to stores.
  • Sorts, separates, and scans units of merchandise to be processed. Places on conveyor lines as appropriate for distribution to the stores.
  • Ability to effectively operate RF units, scanners.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties within the department and assigned designated areas to ensure a safe and appropriate working environment.
  • Monitors equipment and reports problems to supervisor.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping cross walks and workstations neat.
  • Maintains the integrity of our Mission, Vision and Values statement while performing daily job duties.

Picker

  • Pulls products for all weekly distributions to stores
  • Ability to effectively operate RF units, scanners
  • Performs general housekeeping duties within the department and assigned designated areas to ensure a safe and appropriate working environment.
  • Monitors equipment and reports problems to supervisor
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping cross walks, pallet area, and workstations neat.
  • Maintains the integrity of our Mission, Vision and Values statement while performing daily job duties.

VAS

  • Assists with new store/event receiving and tagging and packing.
  • Prepares and stages orders for shipping.
  • Ensures proper paperwork is completed before product is sent out to stores or event
  • Exhibits reasonable care and operation of material handling equipment (Industrial Manual Pallet Jack).
  • Performs general housekeeping duties within the department and assigned designated areas to ensure a safe and appropriate working environment.
  • Monitors equipment and reports problems to supervisor.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping cross walks, pallet area, and workstations neat.
  • Maintains the integrity of our Mission, Vision and Values statement while performing daily job duties.

Shipping

  • Prepares and stages orders for shipping.
  • Loads hand stacks cartons in trailers according to store delivery schedule and door assignments for shipment to the stores.
  • Exhibits reasonable care and operation of material handling equipment (Industrial Manual Pallet Jack).
  • Monitors equipment and reports problems to supervisor.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping cross walks, pallet area, and workstations neat.
  • Maintains the integrity of our Mission, Vision and Values statement while performing daily job duties.

Additional Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • High School degree and equivalent work experience
  • 1 year of working in a Distribution environment.
  • Ability to move a maximum of 45 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to effectively operate RF units and scanners.
  • Knowledge working with Warehouse Management System.
  • Strong communicate with management and other employees
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to operate DISTRIBUTION CENTER equipment such as pallet jack.
  • Ability to perform physical activity at a sustained pace within a DISTRIBUTION CENTER environment including walking, bending and lifting.
