THE ROLE:
NextGen America is currently seeking a Distributed Organizing Intern to join our remote Spring internship program, with a possibility of extension to our summer and fall programs. This internship is not limited to college seniors or recent graduates. We also invite and encourage experienced professionals who may be looking for a career change to apply.
This position will be part-time with an expected commitment of 20 hours per week. The expected start date for our Spring Cohort will be February 26, 2024.
HOW YOU WILL BENEFIT
- Paid: an intern will be considered an hourly employee with a pay rate of $22/hour

WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE:
- Assist with core day-to-day activities of the Distributed Organizing team
- Assist with monitoring our virtual field office on Slack to create and maintain an engaging and welcoming virtual environment
- Launch and monitor distributed phone and/or text banks
- Lead volunteer trainings and virtual meetings via Zoom
- Provide volunteer and volunteer leader support by creating written materials, hosting trainings, and one-on-one coaching
- Assist with volunteer and volunteer leader recruitment on a regular basis
- Conduct necessary research and help prepare volunteer materials
- Perform administrative support and duties as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
ABOUT YOU:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications
- A passion for taking political action through the engaging with young people to stand up for progressive values and causes
- A strong desire to obtain new skills and exposure to working in a professional environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines
- Creative and flexible
- Excellent team player
COMPENSATION:
NextGen America Interns are part-time, temporary employees with a set pay rate of $22/hour. This position is not eligible for benefits.
