Blounts&Moore, holder of 6 social equity cannabis dispensary licenses in Illinois, is hiring for Supervisors for their very first dispensary to open in Oswego, IL!

The Dispensary Supervisor is responsible for creating and ensuring an exceptional customer experience for our customers. This role ensures that dispensary staff are foreseeing, meeting, and exceeding all customer needs and expectations through consistent coaching, motivation, and inspiration; and by working alongside all dispensary staff. In addition to sales duties, the Retail Supervisor assists in cash and inventory management, opening and closing the store, store safety and security, as well as directing, leading, and coaching the retail team to ensure efficient daily operations, compliance with State and local laws and regulations and ultimately delivering exceptional customer service standards.

Key Functions

● In addition to all responsibilities outlined below, and in order to promote a global mindset and to lead by example, a Retail Supervisor is responsible for all the same key functions of all subordinates including but may not be limited to that of customer service staff, inventory personnel, and security staff.

● Ensures the consistent delivery of exceptional customer experience through regular training, coaching, motivation, and positive reinforcement.

● Is committed to regular and effective communication across all levels of leadership and departments.

● Spends majority of time on the retail floor to oversee, inspire, and ensure exceptional customer experiences.

● Supports with training and development of team members and consistently coaches team on opportunities to enhance service and product knowledge.

● Promotes selling and service skills to achieve sales goals and KPI’s.

● Partners with the Management on goal setting and establishing daily/weekly/monthly performance objectives.

● Strategically plans daily agendas to ensure “right people, right place, right time” for a smooth service flow, monitoring breaks and ensuring adequate coverage in all areas of the store.

● Assigns and oversees daily tasks and efficiency of sales, inventory, and security team members.

● Effectively communicates to all staff daily updates such as specials, operational updates, team wins and opportunities.

● Swiftly intervenes and de-escalates customer concerns and complaints.

● Holds staff accountable for handbook policies such as attendance, uniform, cash handling, and other standards.

● Ensures the store is maintained to high standards of aesthetics, merchandising, organization, and cleanliness.

● Upholds security and safety measures, as well as ensuring compliance with State and local law.

● Partners with Management on employee behavioral issues and development, may participate in delivering constructive feedback, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews.

● Identifies and communicates to Management business opportunities pertaining to product assortment, operational processes, increasing sales, and team development and participates in developing and executing action plans, including feedback, suggestions, and ideas reported by subordinate staff members.

● Responsible for opening and closing the store and effectively communicating and handing off other leaders.

● Ensures all customer entries and sales are conducted in compliance with State and local regulation.

● Performs all sales transactions in compliance with state regulations governing the sale of cannabis products.

● Complies with all state regulations as well as the Company’s operating policies, procedures, and practices.

● Completes required documentation for product sales.

● Oversees front and back of house dispensary operations in collaboration with Management.

● Assists with and ensures all customers are properly assisted with product selection and education, in accordance with customer service standards and training.

● Ensures all sales and transactions are properly entered in POS and inventory management systems.

● Complies with all safety and security protocols for dispensary staff.

● Achieves daily/weekly sales objectives by seeking opportunities to introduce new and alternative products to dispensary customers; and educating customers on products.

● Performs assigned administrative tasks (customers/sales tracking).

● Answers phones, returns voicemails, and responds to customer communications.

● Supports fulfilling online orders as well as ensuring online product menus are accurate and up to date.

● Establishes on-going relationships with customers and completes customer profiles to assist in future sales and service.

● Maintains knowledge on new and existing products via vendor training resources and cross-training with Management.

● Maintains knowledge of the cannabis industry and the effects of and uses for cannabis as a therapeutic tool for personal well-being.

● Picks and builds orders/products for sales orders.

● Supports with AM and PM inventory counts as needed.

● Assist in the receipt and in-processing of incoming product deliveries.

● Supports in daily physical recording of inventory.

● Assists in inventory cycle counts.

● Follows dispensary cash handling policies for drops and deposits.

● Responsible for counting and closing daily tills and ensuring balanced counts.

● Coordinates with Management to conduct cash counts.

● Ensures cash is bundled for pickup in accordance with bank guidelines.

● May assume specific areas of responsibility assigned and outlined by Management, such as but not limited to scheduling, time/attendance tracking, education, accounting, supply ordering, etc.

Essential Skills

● Committed to “Why” communication, especially in proposing, implementing, and enforcing strategy and process.

● Strong skills in ability to train others.

● Proven record is participating in the management, development, and inspiration of strong teams.

● Savvy in POS, Bookkeeping, and Microsoft Suite software.

● Must learn compliance and regulatory demands pertaining to cannabis.

● Ability to assume a strong passion for cannabis knowledge and education, as it pertains to products.

● Ability to understand policies and procedures and follow appropriately.

Qualifications

● High School Diploma or greater

● 3+ years experience in a supervisory role of customer-facing teams in a high volume, fast-paced setting, preferably in retail or hospitality. Experience in regulated cannabis or other highly regulated industry is desirable.

● Background checks and certifications required according to State and local law.

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
