Summary
The Floor Supervisor in a cannabis dispensary is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the sales floor. This position requires a combination of leadership, customer service skills, and a deep understanding of cannabis products and regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Ensure a positive and welcoming atmosphere for customers
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, offering product guidance, and resolving issues
Sales & Upselling
- Supervises and support budtenders in delivering effective sales strategies
- Encourages upselling & cross-selling techniques to maximize sales and enhance customer experience
Team Management
- Assists with recruitment, training, and supervision of new Budtenders
- Assist development and implementation of staff schedules to ensure adequate store coverage
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback
Product Knowledge
- Stays up-to-date on cannabis strains, products, and industry trends
- Trains and educates staff on products, usage methods, and customer preferences
Inventory Oversight
- Collaborates with the Inventory Lead to monitor inventory levels to ensure accurate stocking
- Assist with implementation of inventory control procedures to prevent discrepancies and product shortage
Compliance
- Ensures adherence to local and state regulations governing the sale of cannabis
- Oversees age verification procedures and maintains compliance with legal requirements
Operational Efficiency
- Streamlines operational processes to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Addresses and resolve any operational issues promptly
Store Presentation
- Maintains a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment
- Oversees merchandising efforts to highlight featured products and promotions
Security
- Assists General Manager with implementation/maintenance of security protocols to prevent theft and ensure a safe environment for customers and staff
- Investigates and addresses any security concerns or incidents
Reporting & Analysis
- Generates and analyzes sales reports, customer feedback, and other relevant data as requested
- Provides insight & suggestions to General Manager for continuous improvement
- Completes other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in a cannabis-related fields is a plus
- Must be 21 years of age and able to pass a background check
- Must be able to obtain a MS Cannabis Agent card
- Strong customer service, leadership, and communication skills
- Previous experience in a retail leadership role, preferably in the cannabis industry
- Knowledge of cannabis products, strains, and industry regulations
- Physical Requirements: This position may involve standing for extended periods and other physical tasks related to overseeing a retail space
