Dispatch/Operations Associate (small family-owned trucking co.)

We are seeking a hard-working individual to join our dispatch team who does well in a sometimes fast-paced, small office environment. This position will primarily assist in dispatch, and occasionally assist with administrative duties when needed. An applicant must have competent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and computers in general which is required for most aspects of the position. An applicant must have advanced communication skills, with a focus on customer service.

Pay is competitive and based on experience/aptitude, which will be discussed more during the interview process. Benefits become available after 60 days of employment.

Duties

• Assist in planning, booking, and coordinating the movement of freight

• Communicate with drivers, carriers, and customers to provide status updates and resolve any issues or delays via phone, email, and computer systems

• Monitor Samsara (ELD) tracking systems to track the location of drivers, hours of service, messages, and review safety events

• Monitor, react, and respond to customer emails/calls/requests in a timely manner

• Manage driver incoming and outgoing paperwork (bills of lading, receipts, etc.)

• Assist in the freight brokering process to outside motor carriers

• Assist in administrative and billing duties when needed

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of freight industry practices, DOT regulations, and terminology
• Dispatch, Freight Brokering, Fleet Safety experience
• Proficiency in using fleet management software, TMS

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
