As a Transportation Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and optimizing the movement of goods and vehicles to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. You will be responsible for managing a fleet of drivers, tracking shipments, and communicating with drivers and clients to guarantee smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Route Planning and Optimization:
  • Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize fuel costs.
  • Consider factors such as traffic, weather, and road closures when planning routes.
  • Driver Coordination:
  • Communicate effectively with drivers to provide clear instructions and updates.
  • Monitor driver progress and address any delays or issues that may arise during transportation.
  • Shipment Tracking:
  • Utilize tracking systems to monitor the real-time location and status of shipments.
  • Provide regular updates to customers and internal stakeholders regarding shipment progress.
  • Problem Resolution:
  • Act quickly to resolve any issues or obstacles that may impact the timely delivery of goods.
  • Collaborate with drivers, customer service, and other departments to address challenges proactively.
  • Communication:
  • Maintain open and clear communication channels with drivers, clients, and internal teams.
  • Relay important information regarding changes in routes, schedules, or delivery instructions.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Keep accurate records of dispatch activities, including route changes, delays, and customer communication.
  • Generate regular reports on key performance indicators and operational metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a transportation dispatcher or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in using transportation management systems and software.
  • Familiarity with geographical locations and mapping tools.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance in the transportation industry.

Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional training or certification in logistics or transportation management is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
