Dispatch Manager

Richard Carrier Trucking, Inc. has an immediate opening for Dispatch Manager at our facility in Skowhegan, Maine.

The successful candidate must have excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills.

This role will manage Class A CDL drivers and will report directly to the owners. The Dispatch Manager will make certain that drivers are given streamlined routes to maximize profitability for both the driver and the company. This position requires the ability to lead with positive intent and supervise in accordance with well-defined company policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Promptly assign drivers with their daily and/or weekly schedule.

Make numerous changes to routes throughout the day as dictated by customer requests and unexpected situations.

Create shipping and dispatch documents including border crossings.

Maintain records of dispatched calls, driver routes, delivery and pickup times, truck repairs, maintenance and attendance.

Assist drivers with ELD's and monitor hours of service.

Remain on-call for employee emergencies.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

2-5 years of supervisory experience with the ability to make ethical decisions under pressure.

Detail oriented and organized with the ability to multitask.

Transparent communication is a must! Share information as necessary, keeping owners and colleagues informed.

Ability to identify and solve complex problems.

Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.

Basic MS office skills and experience with computers/ELD's.

Uphold strict confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information, including personnel matters, legal documents, financial data, contracts, and other proprietary information.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
