JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State College of Medicine Office of Diversity, Equity & Belonging is seeking a candidate for a part-time Disability Services Coordinator.
- Interpretation and application of the regulations of Americans with Disabilities (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and University policies.
- Facilitate access to courses, programs, services, and facilities for students with disabilities.
- Determine eligibility for services and appropriate accommodations.
- Develop, monitor, evaluate, and adjust individual accommodation plans.
- Plan, implement, and assess wellness programs; provide ongoing case management.
- Maintain confidential records.
- Participate in retention efforts.
- Perform related administrative tasks.
The position involves collaboration with other offices including Academic Affairs, Admissions, Student Affairs, Counseling Services, Housing, Information Technology Services.
Preferred Requirements and Qualifications
Successful candidates will have a holistic perspective on student health and development, and demonstrated commitment to, and relevant ability in successfully advocating for diversity and values of diversity. The successful candidate should possess professional and personable communication skills and be organized and reliable.
A bachelor’s degree or higher in higher education, student support services, counseling, social work, rehabilitation counseling, or a related field, and at least two years of related work experience. This is a part time hourly position.
The following clearances must be successfully completed for this position:
- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
