Job description

We’re part of Friends of the Earth International, a federation of groups working in more than 70 countries on today’s most urgent environmental and social issues.

If so, this is the position for you. We want you to succeed and we want to pay you a competitive wage that is in line with your experience. The salary range for this full-time remote role is $$59,000-$68,000. Offers are determined based on relevant skills and experience required for the position. This position is part of the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU) at Friends of the Earth.


Attention to Detail: Review blogs, reports, press releases and other campaign materials for accuracy and effectiveness. Review findings from our Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) cases to identify corporate wrongdoing.


Organized Contributor: Collaborate with our legal department to ensure the technical accuracy of regulatory filings and other documents. Collaborate with press and social media teams to develop hard-hitting content. Collaborate with our Development Team to review email and other content for accuracy and effectiveness.


Analytical Ability: Synthesize data from a variety of sources to develop hard-hitting reports, blog posts, social media content. Identify and seize rapid response opportunities that can help advance campaign outcomes.


Required Qualifications:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of work experience with a minimum of three years of demonstrated success in campaigning, organizing, and/or policy advocacy in progressive policy settings.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and comfort with presenting material to a wide range of audiences, including the public, civil society organizations, the press, companies, and government officials.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to inspire trust and respect among colleagues and external partners, including working well within diverse coalitions.
  • Excellent decision-making, team building, prioritization, and networking skills; demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and creativity.
  • Excellent time management and ability to balance multiple priorities and effectively complete a wide range of campaign activities in a self-directed manner, including policy analysis, advocacy, online and offline organizing, public speaking, research, and communications.
