We are actively recruiting a Director with a strong background in business valuations to join our Forensic, Valuations & Litigation Support (FVLS) team. The Director, Valuations will prepare valuations of public and private companies, partnerships, and assets across different industries for litigation and transactional purposes, as well as provide expert opinions in various litigation matters, such as federal and state securities laws, ERISA litigation, shareholder oppression, commercial damages, M&A, and matrimonial litigation. He/she must possess extensive expertise in securities, capital markets, and commercial litigation, including valuation and economic damages, as well as estate and trust portfolio valuation expertise.
At DLA, our FVLS practice produces results that go beyond what our clients require by adopting best practices for engagements that combine financial, accounting, advisory, investigative, and valuation services across a wide range of industries, working with both large and small firms.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide expert analyses and opinions in both commercial litigation matters (including class-action securities) and matrimonial dissolutions
- Prepare valuations of public and private companies, partnerships, and assets in a variety of industries for litigation and transactional purposes
- Quantify stakeholder damages in financial disputes and assist in matters related to class certification
- Work collaboratively with our team of experts to provide exceptional client service and build lasting relationships with clients
- Participate in marketing and sales efforts
- Educate and develop Senior Managers, Managers and Seniors
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments, and ensure that the FVLS group remains at the forefront of the industry
- Assist with the preparation of detailed analyses, expert and other reports, affidavits, and other client deliverables (demonstrative tables, exhibits and charts)
- Prepare proposals to new and existing clients
- Balance multiple projects and responsibilities
- Communicating effectively to all levels of engagement management
- Maintaining the integrity of corporate information

Knowledge & Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in commercial and matrimonial Litigation Support services including valuation and economic damages
- Strong estate and trust portfolio valuation experience required
- Expertise in preparing valuations of public and private companies, partnerships, and assets in a variety of industries for matrimonial and commercial litigation / transactional purposes
- Ability to qualify in Federal district court to provide opinions concerning class certification matters, including market efficiency
- Experience in structuring financial settlements and developing equitable plans of allocation in conjunction with class action settlements and SEC disgorgement proceedings
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with our team of experts and build lasting relationships with clients
- Leadership skills and the ability to lead and develop a team
- Assist in firm marketing and business development efforts
- Entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to contribute to the growth and development of the FVLS practice and the firm as a whole
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field
- CPA, CVA, ABV, ASA, CFA, CFE or CFF certification preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel; experience with Quicken and QuickBooks is a plus
