co-develop and execute our ‘go to market’ strategy as Director of Sales Operations for one of the nation’s leading distributors of event, party, and craft supplies.

Director of Ecommerce and Traditional Wholesale Sales and Marketing principal roles and responsibilities:

Digital sales (B2B portal, B2C, and 3P sites):

  • Lead all digital platform development projects
  • Manage ALL digital assets and e-commerce sales platforms
  • Migrate traditional sales to online
  • Marketing/promotion strategy and oversight
  • Teambuilding
  • Process and policy

Inside sales/customer service:

  • Manage legacy and growing inside sales/customer service departments
  • Ensure consistent contact with current and prospective customers
  • Create/manage by custom KPIs, regular meetings, and consistent coaching
  • Plan/staff-up/launch an out-bound sales program
  • Improve policy and process for all programs

Trade shows:

  • Manage and attend ASD Las Vegas and permanent Dallas showroom.
  • Assess and add other trade shows

Outside reps:

  • Rebuild and manage nationwide network

Legacy Product Catalog:

  • Oversee production of 375 page color catalog

Operations:

  • Oversee Warehouse Manager.
  • Take ownership of B2C and B2B logistics.
  • Scale B2C pick and pack
  • Own "day to day" operations

Other roles and responsibilities:

  • Achieve revenue and gross profit growth targets from all channels
  • Maintain a robust project management schedule with aggressive deadlines
  • Promote and maintain strong sustainable customer relationships
  • Provide timely forecasts, updates on market, sales performance, and growth opportunities
  • Help recruit and train staff across the company.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of verifiable experience in managing both inside and outside sales teams
  • Experience selling to distributors, “Mom and Pops” and small to medium chain stores
  • Experience in general merchandise, CPG and/or party related goods.
  • Proficient in both traditional and digital sales paradigms
  • Project management expertise
  • Advanced leadership and situational management skills (engage, inspire, motivate, and manage legacy personalities, improve both individual and team performance)
  • Tenacious, results-driven, and committed to continuous improvement
  • Have (or develop) a passion for the industry and demonstrating value to our customers
  • Ability to implement creative and innovative solutions
  • Travel approx 10-15% of schedule (domestic customers/China buying)
  • Strong understanding of market conditions and US consumer retail trends
  • Product management and trend analysis
  • Deep knowledge of logistics and freight
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, patience, integrity, and high energy
  • Spanish speaking a big plus
  • Sales experience within the Event, Party and Craft industry a big plus.
  • 4-year degree a big plus
