Job Summary:
We are seeking a visionary and passionate Director - Textile Designer to lead our creative direction process and textile design organization. You will be responsible for developing innovative and trendsetting textiles that align with consumer trends and feedback, while adhering to our unique brand identity and aesthetic. As a strategic leader, you will guide and mentor a large team of talented designers, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional departments to bring our product vision to life.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and oversee the entire design process from concept to final execution, including conceptualizing, developing, and refining textile designs
- Manage, mentor, and direct a team of Textile Designers, fostering a collaborative and creative environment
- Oversee design operations, ensuring timely delivery of launches and resolving any production issues
- Manage the design budget, including travel expenses and trend services
- Conduct market research and stay up-to-date on current trends in the consumer home market
- Attend fabric and other product-focused tradeshows to identify new material and design opportunities
- Collaborate with Product Development on designing products that exceed our customers expectations and financial targets
- Critique fit from a design perspective and provide feedback to technical designers
- Partner with Marketing on new innovation
- Provide motivational leadership and development to the design team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
What You'll Need to Have:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a leading managerial Design & Merchandising function, managing multiple brands/businesses and a sizeable team
- Proven leadership skills in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating the ability to motivate, inspire, and guide a team of designers
- Expertise in all facets of concept, design, product development, and merchandising, with a deep understanding of design processes and current best practices
- Excellent judgment skills, strong decision-making abilities, and the ability to quickly establish credibility within the organization
- Solid project management, team building, analytical, presentation, and communication skills
- Fiscally responsible, with the ability to carefully manage and work within tight budgets
- A combination of business sense and artistic awareness
- Proficiency in Google Sheets, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Ability to travel 5-10%
Compensation:
- $110,000 - $150,000 per year base salary
- An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
- Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
