Responsibilities

The System Director of Strategic Project Management, SSRM will assimilate, coordinate, and manage the massive Project Management function of SSRM to improve our value creation, speed to value and transparency around project status.   SSRM is a complex department of functions that must operate both independently and as a cohesive unit in order to effectively deliver value with transparency.  This position must be an unbiased influencer with a proven track record of successful Project Management.   

 

This position will have the responsibility for ensuring that programs and project outcomes across multiple functions and/or processes are coordinated, and that potential roadblocks and barriers are removed to ensure value is delivered within agreed upon timelines.  The position will coordinate with the respective VPs over each functional area and their respective leads the incorporation of their individual projects and those that are part of a series of events that drive value.  This position should understand the major components of our functional areas, sourcing, contracting, channeling, system updating, implementation, and operations to ensure the complete pull through of value.  This position will focus on enterprise-wide critical, emerging initiatives, identified by the SVP SSRM and Senior Leadership Team. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the progress of multiple teams with a key focus on creating, evaluating, managing, and improving programs and/or processes aimed at addressing emerging opportunities and challenges identified as strategically important by SSRM Leadership. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees intake process including requirements gathering, work planning, and related communications, issue resolution, and change management.
  • Ensures leadership and other stakeholders receive reporting and communications on overall project/program status
  • Works autonomously 
  • Sets high goals for personal and group accomplishment; using measurement methods and tools to monitor progress toward goals; tenaciously working to meet or exceed goals while deriving satisfaction from the achievement, creativity and continuous improvement. 
  • Navigate Project Management lifecycle and provide an anticipatory mindset through all process cycles
  • Responsible for collaboration of projects across multiple service lines, categories, functions, and/or regions.
  • Provides regular feedback and suggests alternative approaches necessary to ensure that organizational objectives and superior standards are achieved.
  • Prepares and manages project documentation, deliverables, milestones, and schedules in collaborative manner with VPs.
  • Maintains clear communications with teams regarding mutual expectations.
  • Makes concrete attempts to add value and enhance SSRM’s ability to achieve our business goals
  • Communicates for results through expression of technical and business concepts, ideas, feelings opinions, and conclusions so that others understand or are persuaded to act.  Creates an environment that encourages and values the opinions of others, and promotes sharing of information and ideas.
  • Utilizes professional or technical expertise to advise, intervene, and/or influence internal partners over whom there is no direct authority.
  • Practices making equitable decisions by quickly assessing the scope of an issue and providing options that lead to its closure in an unbiased manner.
  • Shares knowledge, skills or expertise with others, coaches and teaches.
  • Must understand and exemplify the broader impact of work efforts across all of CommonSpirit and conceptualizes impact of changes.

 


Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in related field or mix of Bachelor’s degree and equivalent professional experience. Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Current PMP certification required
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in Supply Chain (sourcing, contracting, implementation, operations with a minimum of three (3) years of Project Management within a health care facility, system, or GPO.  PMO experience can be outside of healthcare.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare industry business practices specific to Supply Chain.  
  • Proven abilities to negotiate between related but distinct areas to improve outcomes.  
  • Understands product lifecycles and importance of meeting required deadlines for delivery of value.  
  • Team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Established leadership skills and must be able to manage through influence.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Google and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Working knowledge of PC software packages typically associated with Project Management.
  • Proven ability for managing and directing work involving complex situations
  • Must be capable of supporting and implementing a culture of collaboration within SSRM and other Departments, Divisions, Facilities and Organizations.
  • Team Management and Project Management Skills
  • Personality and work ethic must conform with SSRM Guiding Principles around Culture.

Pay Range
$54.24 - $78.65 /hour
