Job Summary:
Position Summary
The Director of Store Planning & Inventory will be responsible for overseeing the US Owned & Operated Store business and Ecom inventory balancing. The Director will recommend transfers to maximize inventory efficiencies and minimize split shipments. The individual will be responsible for sales, KPI and inventory projections for both in-season and pre-season planning. The Director will track trends on a day-to-day basis and work collaboratively with key stakeholders such as Marketing, Finance, Merchandise Planning and Merchandising to drive the business and mitigate risks. The Director must possess a keen ability to identify, communicate, and implement strategic business opportunities at the channel, and season code level. This individual must be attentive to detail and self-motivated to constantly improve processes as business needs evolve.

Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
PRE-SEASON
  • Proactively lead the development of the company’s annual topline financial plan through partnership with Real Estate, merchandise planning and finance teams.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the annual P&L by ensuring that the topline sales and receipt targets are appropriately reflected in the expense assumptions. Project metrics such as sales units, UPT, split ratio, etc.
  • Manage and drive the execution of the company’s seasonal financial plan, informing teams of sales and KPI plans in order to achieve topline targets.
  • Manage the receipt flow by season code, ensuring proper inventory levels by quarter. Collaborate with finance and merchandise planning to ensure receipt flow is appropriately reflected in the cash flow projections.
  • Cross-functionally develop the daily sales & KPI plans, in conjunction with Merchandise Planning, Merchandising. Finance and Marketing
  • Effectively communicate direction from Finance/Business Planning to the business leads in Sourcing, Merchandising and Merchandise Planning to ensure cohesive strategy across all departments.
  • Serve as a liaison between Finance, Merchandise Planning, Marketing, Merchandising, Sourcing.
  • Oversee management of the inventory capacity model.
IN-SEASON
  • Manage topline sales and KPIs by day based on current trends, inventory levels and latest promotional calendar.
  • Manage by store plans that tie back to the topline store financial plans.
  • Present performance vs. target analysis on a weekly basis to planning leadership to ensure comprehensive understanding of key business drivers as well as identify future risks and opportunities.
  • Control liability/carry-over inventory levels by closely monitoring and reporting on season code sales and inventory levels vs. targets and vs. history.
  • Recommend sales and KPI forecast scenarios which identify potential what-ifs and help to determine the optimal sales and GM% targets to maximize profitability and inventory efficiency.
  • Manage Tax Free sales plans in collaboration with the merchandise planning and allocation teams.
  • Recommend transfers between Radial and SEDC and Amazon channels that maximize inventory efficiency and minimize shipment splits.
OTHER
  • Create ad hoc recaps/projects that are easy to read and support business decision making.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 10+ years of experience in retail planning and analysis
Skills and Behaviors:
  • Expertise in retail math with strong analytical skills
  • Strong Excel skills with ability to create and maintain financial models.
  • Strong communicator with proven ability to collaborate cross functionally.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
