Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Position Summary
Summary:
The Director of Spiritual Care Services is responsible for the development and implementation of a continuum of pastoral and Spiritual Care services aimed at meeting the goals and objectives of the department. These services are available to all patients, families, visitors and staff. In this pursuit, the Director is responsible for the administration of economic and human resource needs of Spiritual Care Services.

Education Required
Experience And Skills
License/Certifications
- Must complete in-house orientation program
- A Master's degree is required.
- The chaplain has completed a curriculum of theological classes and displays skills and competencies in pastoral and Spiritual Care.

- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Speaks, reads and writes English
- Solid standing in their denomination with ecclesiastical endorsement.
- Ability and stamina to minister to patients/residents/clients with varying physical and mental dysfunctions.
- Flexibility in work hours, programs, and services.
- Good physical, emotional, spiritual health and social skills.
- Ability and desire to work with clergy and volunteers of varying faith and spiritual backgrounds.
- Value placed on the importance of working as a team both within and outside the department; good communication skills.
- Ability to be assertive yet flexible.
- Ability to exercise the authority of the position while knowing how to delegate.
License/Certifications
- Certification by an appropriate clinical pastoral agency or certification within one year of hiring.
- Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education.
- Two years of pastoral and/or Spiritual Care experience.
