Position Summary...
What you'll do...
This Software Engineering Director at Sam's Club leads and mentors the teams responsible for the implementation of the SamsClub.com Account and Membership experiences. This role ensures that these teams are delivering in accordance with the business teams' expectations and adhering to agile practices and product ownership principles.

Sam's Club provides a carefully curated assortment of items, as well as developing and leading technologies and services such as Scan & Go, Club Pickup, and home delivery service in select markets. Sam's Club also provides travel, auto purchasing, pharmacy, optical, hearing aid centers, tire and battery centers, and a portfolio of business operations support services.
What you'll do:
  • Works with business and product partners to ensure that teams are delivering high quality software that satisfies the business needs.
  • Ensures that teams embrace and implement engineering excellence practices, delivering software in a timely and efficient manner that align with agile methodologies.
  • Implements strong operational discipline within the teams, encouraging sense of ownership for the solution as a whole from design through support.

What you'll bring:
  • Strong background in agile development practices
  • A history of delivering mission critical applications on the cloud, with understanding of all aspects of delivery and runtime (CI/CD, Cloud Infrastructure, Monitoring, etc)
  • Capable of developing the vision and direction of the team independently, but in accordance with overall organization strategy.

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$260,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
  • Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)

  • Stock equity incentives

Minimum Qualifications...
Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, Software Engineering, or related area and6 years' experience in Software Engineering or related area.
Option 2: 8 years' experience in Software Engineering or related area.
3 years' supervisory experience.
