SCE Credit Union is a community-focused financial institution headquartered in Irwindale, CA, dedicated to providing innovative financial solutions to our members. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and visionary individual to join our team as the Director of Real Estate Operations. In this role, you will lead our Real Estate team, driving excellence in underwriting and processing home equity loans and lines of credit, while also playing a key role in advancing our Social Impact strategy through the development and execution of an affordable housing program.
Position OverviewAs the Director of Real Estate Operations, you will report directly to the Chief Lending Officer and be responsible for leading the Real Estate team. You will collaborate with our mortgage Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) to manage mortgage loan programs. In addition to maximizing operational efficiencies and identifying opportunities for product and service enhancements, you will be instrumental in developing and executing an affordable housing program as a key initiative to support our Social Impact strategy.

Key Responsibilities:Leadership: Provide strategic leadership to the Real Estate team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
Loan Underwriting and Processing: Oversee the underwriting and processing of home equity loans and lines of credit, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Collaboration: Work closely with the mortgage CUSO to manage mortgage loan programs, fostering collaboration to achieve shared goals.
Operational Efficiency: Drive operational excellence by implementing best practices, streamlining processes, and optimizing workflows.
Technology Deployment: Identify and deploy technology solutions to enhance member experience and improve operational efficiency.
Affordable Housing Program: Develop and execute an affordable housing program as a key initiative supporting our Social Impact strategy.
Product and Service Enhancement: Identify opportunities for product and service enhancements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions to market.
Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the success of Real Estate Operations, making data-driven decisions to achieve goals.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Real Estate underwriting and processing, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Strong understanding of Real Estate lending regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and implementing process enhancements.
Experience in developing and executing affordable housing programs.
Computer Skills
Proficient skills navigating a PC and internet browser.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
Working knowledge of loan origination systems.
