  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The Director of Quality has oversight for quality, regulatory/accreditation functions such as The Joint Commission, and patient safety for the facility. Responsible for collaboration with all stakeholders to maximize system integration of improving performance, accreditation, patient safety, and outcomes activities. Accreditation: supports strategies and initiatives to ensure the organization remains in a constant state of readiness for accreditation activities. Serves as link to external regulatory bodies; ensures compliance with mandatory survey activities. Quality/Performance Improvement: Assists with development and facilitates strategies to improve performance. Collaborates with key stakeholders in the organization to develop the Quality Plan and achieve the quality goals approved by the Board of Directors and Senior Leadership. Facilitates integration of strategic planning and goals into quality initiatives and performance improvement work. Patient safety: Represents and supports patient safety mechanisms and quality strategy. Outcomes: coordinates the provision of data collection, analysis, and report production for key quality, clinical indicators, and patient safety initiatives. Ensures organization's compliance with submission of mandatory reporting requirements. Responsible for development of key communication strategies to report on improving organization's performance, accreditation, patient safety, and outcome information to the hospital, Medical Staff, Senior Leadership, and the Board of Trustees. Interact with the Board, leadership, physicians, staff, and the community to foster partnerships to achieve desired quality and patient safety outcomes. Continually assesses, monitors, and evaluates improving performance, accreditation, patient safety, and outcomes services. This position reports to the Chief Clinical Officer.
  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education:
      • Minimum: Bachelor's degree in a relevant healthcare subject area
      • Preferred: Master's degree in a relevant healthcare subject area
      • Achievement of quality certification within 5 years of employment in this position (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality-CPHQ).
    • Job Knowledge and Skills:
      • Minimum: Three years relevant clinical or healthcare quality improvement experience.
      • Preferred: Five years relevant clinical or healthcare quality improvement experience.
