Responsibilities
This position will plan, organize and direct program activities to endure achievement of planned program success while performing the following personally or through subordinate managers.
- In concert with other members of the management team, identify the personnel and capabilities required to fulfill the assigned departmental functions in support of current and projected programs.
- Ensure departments are efficiently staffed with appropriately skilled personnel to meet current and projected programs.
- Ensure departments have appropriate tools to meet current and projected requirements.
- In concert with other members of the leadership team, allocate department resources to meet programs and operation objectives.
- Review of tasks assigned/performed by subordinate organization to ensure safety of operation and regulatory compliance.
- Direct the activities of subordinates in a teamwork environment.
- Provide effective supervision, training, development and evaluation of subordinate In cooperation with HR, maintain succession plan.
- Provide for technical and cost estimating support for bids and proposals.
- Provide for reviews of customer furnished technical data packages (TDPs), statements of work (SOWs), specifications, contract clauses and other technical requirements.
- Interface with customers on engineering and design related matters.
- Review and approve major milestone plans and reports prepared by department personnel.
- Review and approve internally generated TDPs, SOWs, product specifications and other technical requirements.
- Conduct long range planning for assigned department(s), participate in location strategic and operational planning.
- Develop Program Department budget and manage per approved plan.
- Assess program risks and implement process alterations and improvements.
- Oversee or direct purchase order management, policy and procedure compliance, contract negotiations, and program.
- Manage relationships with potential and existing clients and vendors.
- Monitor status of active programs, ensuring contract objectives are fulfilled and complex issues are resolved.
- Oversee various projects going on simultaneously, monitor progress in their missions, and keep them on budget.
- Must have experience leading a team and conducting various projects, good interpersonal skills, as you will be working with a wide variety of staff at various levels within the organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering field or equivalent in a related field.
- 12-15 years experience in engineering or highly related field.
- 8-10 years of supervisory/technical management experience.
