Location: Remote w/ requirement to travel for business needs
Basic Purpose:
The Director, Procurement oversees strategic sourcing within all assigned brands to support the delivery of Packaging (including Corrugated, Folding Cartons, Flexible Films, Rigid Plastics, Glass, and Labels) to meet company demand. The incumbent manages the North America Packaging Category sourcing team to ensure that all volume requirements are met, and all costs remain within budgetary targets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops, defines, and communicates category strategy, coordinates, and secures volume coverage for all assigned brands to ensure achievement of corporate objectives and goals.
- Manages supplier list and works closely with Supply Chain Planning and External Vendors to minimize supply risk and resolve escalated supply issues in a timely manner.
- Manages pricing for all assigned sourcing activity and strives to implement productivity and reduce cost where possible.
- Trains and develops a team of Category Managers for continuous improvement
- Interface with Marketing, QA, and R&D to develop new offerings which meet Hain standards
- Provides updated category and market analytics and reports to the Executive Leadership Team and Finance on a regular basis any risks and opportunities
- Develop new supplier relationships, cultivate existing ones, and identify qualified second sources to reduce supply risk where needed
- Works with Finance to ensures budgeted PPV numbers are achieved, and variances explained
- Assists with other project, as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum eight years' experience in leading a Corporate Packaging Procurement function in the food industry or related role.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manages a team consisting of Category Managers and Buyers
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree or other equivalent
- Knowledge inventory management and associated processes.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively.
- Self-motivated and strong analytical / problem solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.
- Preferred knowledge of the Consumer Product Goods Industry.
- Work with minimal supervision execute for results in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to empower, motivate and inspire staff.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Ability to lead change and execute on strategic decisions.
- Conflict resolution skills
Compensation and Benefits:
- $132,000-$180,000 (commensurate with experience and location).
