A DAY IN THE LIFE:
At Tandem, The Director of Pharmacy Benefit Management is responsible for negotiating, delivering, and managing PBM contractual relationships with top tier National PBM Accounts and identify / support preferred pharmacy provider networks within an assigned PBM. In addition, this role will be responsible for strategic planning with consideration of future trend development within the channel as well as financial forecasting to maximize the financial risk/reward analysis.
- Develops and manages a list of targeted priority accounts established through coordination with Tandem leadership and outside resources which lead to executed agreements with positive financial outcomes.
- Prioritizes and develops PBM contacts as a foundation for contractual relationships.
- Obtains PBM and Mail contracts and participating agreements with any other pharmacy networks which may be required.
- Assists Tandem leadership and various departments in assessing impact and needed resources to execute new and existing contracts.
- Participates in all corporate pricing discussions and evaluates and recommends ASP and Rebate considerations based on current channel positions.
- Travels to accounts for face-to-face presentations and meetings as necessary to promote corporate business and maintain relationships.
- Reviews all Rebate submissions and maintains overall accountability for accuracy and timeliness of payments back to the designated customer.
- Represents Tandem at various National Meetings and where possible assists Medical Affairs and HEOR Departments in securing potential presentation opportunities.
- Oversees Compendium and COT packaging requirements and ensures appropriate updates and accuracy.
YOU’RE AWESOME AT:
- Proficient in dealing with PBM and Pharmacy department issues.
- Ability to manage all aspects of the contracting process /activities.
- Ability to build short and long term strategic plans based on multiple inputs and financial analysis.
- Ability to objectively evaluate situations and make recommendations in strategy for complex accounts.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Bachelor degree, preferably in a life science, business or marketing or a combination of equivalent education and applicable job experience.
- Minimum of 10 years successful Medical and Pharmacy related industry experience.
- Pharmacy sales experience, preferably within the diabetes or the chronic care disease category.
- Ongoing relationships with key National PBM accounts a must.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The starting base pay range for this position is $188,000 - 245,000 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, equity, and a robust benefits package.
Tandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts. You’ll also receive 11 paid holidays per year, a minimum of 20 days of paid time off (accural starts on day 1) and have access to a 401k plan with company match.
